Troubleshooting AlwaysOn Availability Groups

SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups provides an integrated approach to High Availability and Disaster Recovery. It’s a technology that works really great, but do you know what to do in case something goes wrong? Where do you start looking if end users start complaining or you get alerts from your monitoring system? In this session you will learn how to identify problems like, Failover Cluster issues - Replica Unavailable - Availability Group not Healthy, Performance issues, … and you will learn what actions you can take in order to solve the issues. At the end of the session you’ll have a good knowledge to bring your availability groups back in a healthy state!

Pieter Vanhove

Pieter Vanhove is a SQL Server Premier Field Engineer at Microsoft Belgium and has been working with SQL Server since 2000. Performance tuning, SQL audits, training are part of the job. Pieter has also a profound knowledge in implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions and loves the new Azure stuff. Together with the SQLUG in Belgium, he helps organizing SQL Server Days and is also a regular speaker at Belgian and international events.
