Whats new in SQL Server VNext?
The data and business Intelligence landscape is evolving rapidly. SQL Server 2016 is less than a year old, but the next SQL Server is already on the horizon, with a ton of new features. SQL Server on Linux is probably the catchiest one, but in this session you’ll see that there is much more: In-memory OLTP and ColumnStore index improvements, new T-SQL functions and keywords, scale out for Integration Services, support for M scripts (and sources) in Analysis Services, improvements for the R integration, … Be prepared for a whirlwind of new features!
The Speaker :
Dr. Nico Jacobs is a Microsoft Business Intelligence and SQL Server trainer and consultant at U2U since 2004. Before that, he was a machine learning (data mining) researcher at the computer science department of the University of Leuven where he obtained a PhD in machine learning.
At U2U, Nico creates and delivers courses on the SQL Server business intelligence stack (Integration Services, Analysis Services, Reporting Services …), Power BI, Azure Cortana Intelligence (Big Data) and the traditional relational database environment (database development and administration).
